TUTOR - LONDON

​

We are looking for a go-getter to work on an academic and social programme of communication and education in South and East London. This role will be working with a pre teen and young teen. 

​

Expectations

​

  • Work in a one to one capacity with the learner in the family’s home and on location where required 

  • Receive training specifically for each learner and family

  • Possess bountiful energy and enthusiasm 

  • Display a desire to see children and families achieve their maximum potential

  • Regular team meetings with your Supervisor and Bridge School and NETwork Interventions Directors

  • Ability to take data during sessions and record sessions

  • Ability to take accurate observations

 

What to expect

 

  • Each student has different requirements, so being able to adapt and provide an approach that suits each learner is essential when providing an individual, tailored service. 

  • Some students will expect to receive your expertise and support to help them achieve qualifications and prepare for tests, others will have a more staggered approach where exams will not be the right path for them

  • This role is a mix of remote and face to face work and we are looking for someone who has a sound knowledge of all educational subjects, as well as excellent patience and communication skills

  • You will be part of a team providing a high level of consistency to each child

  • We facilitate intensive study so you will need to have the time available when our students need it most

 

Skills

 

  • A sound understanding of the subjects you tutor 

  • Patience and understanding of individual learning needs

  • A friendly manner to help students feel at ease

  • The confidence to encourage, praise and challenge students' progress

  • The ability to work cohesively as a team member

SENCO/LEAD TEACHER

We are looking to recruit a fabulous SENCO/lead teacher for our expanding team. 

 

As a SENCO, you'll be an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs. Working closely with the head teacher and other senior colleagues, you'll use your leadership skills to manage provision in our school and to provide support to other teachers. 

Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering interventions with pupils and providing an overview to a child's whole programme as well as  providing specialist oversight. This role will be a combination of remote work, face-to-face and teaching duties. It is vital that you can work well in a team and deliver excellent reporting, liaise closely and continuously with parents and the team and be evidence and data based at all times.

 

Responsibilities

​

As a SENCO you'll need to: 

​

  • develop and oversee the implementation of our SEN strategy and policy

  • carry out assessments of pupils with SEN to identify needs and monitor progress - including observations in the child’s working environment and meeting with other teachers and parents

  • work with classroom teachers, the school leadership team, parents and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor individual support/learning plans 

  • provide regular updates on pupil progress through written reports and meetings with parents 

  • make referrals and liaise with professionals outside of the school - this could include psychologists, health and social care providers, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists

  • provide advice, guidance and training to classroom teachers on supporting pupils with SEN 

  • support teachers to develop schemes of work and learning programmes for pupils with SEN 

  • support teachers to develop and implement effective teaching and behaviour management approaches in the classroom

  • develop and maintain systems for keeping pupil records, ensuring information is accurate and up to date 

  • analyse school, local and national data and develop appropriate strategies and interventions 

  • manage SEN teachers, teaching assistants and support staff to improve pupil progress and attainment 

  • keep up to date with national and local policies related to SEN and cascade information to colleagues.
